How to Downgrade or Remove Members in Framer

Managing Member Permissions in Framer
In Framer, you can freely manage member permissions for workspaces or projects. You can downgrade members or completely remove them from projects or workspaces. We encourage you to manage all members in the Framer workspace efficiently through this process.
Downgrading Project Members
Individual Plan
The Individual Plan offers two types of permissions: Edit and View (View Only).
To change a member's permissions to View Only, follow these steps:
Open the
Invitetab from the top menuSelect the user whose permissions you want to change
Click the “
View Only” button to complete

Business and Enterprise Plans
In the Business or Enterprise Plans, you can manage detailed permissions (Design, Content, Deploy, etc.) individually compared to the Individual Plan. To change members to View Only in these plans, follow these steps:
Open the
InvitepanelClick the permission dropdown menu next to the user
By deselecting all editing permissions, the user will automatically switch to View Only status.

Removing Project Members
To completely remove a member from a project, follow these steps:
Open the
InvitepanelSelect the user you want to remove from the member list
Click the “
Remove” button to complete
Note: The member might be part of other projects in the workspace. Please make sure to check this in the workspace settings before removing the member.
Downgrading Workspace Members
To change editing permissions for the entire workspace to View Only, follow these steps:
Go to Workspace Settings
Open the
Memberstab from the left menuSelect the member and click the “
Remove Editor Access” button to complete
By doing so, the member will be switched to View Only in all projects, allowing read-only access without additional editing privileges.

Removing Workspace Members
The method for removing a workspace member depends on their role.
Project Editor
First, downgrade the member's permissions to View Only in all projects, then individually remove the member from each workspace.Workspace Editor or Viewer
Click the “Remove from team” button in the workspace settings to remove directly.
