Collaborating in Framer
In Framer, designers, marketers, developers, and other team members can simultaneously edit and review a single project in real-time. The advantage is that everyone can collaborate on the same canvas without needing to share files or match versions separately.
Identifying Collaborators
At the top right of Framer, profile pictures of everyone accessing the project are displayed.
Color profile picture: User currently viewing or editing the project
Gray profile picture: User has opened the project before but is not connected now
Hover over a profile picture to see the last date the user accessed the project.

Following Collaborators' Screens
You can also follow the screen of someone currently viewing the project in real time. This feature is particularly useful for design reviews or feedback sessions and helps keep focus and share flow when working with others.

Click the eye icon that appears.
Once clicked, your canvas will automatically move to the position the user is viewing.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. Can you track who did what when collaborating in Framer?
Yes. Although it doesn’t show a complete edit history by user, you can use the Version History feature to revert or compare changes in the project.
Q. Are cursor chat messages saved?
No. Cursor Chat functions more like a simple real-time annotation, so no records are saved.
Q. What if a collaborator accidentally deletes something, how can it be recovered?
There is a recovery method. As mentioned earlier, Framer has an auto-save and Version History feature, allowing you to revert to a previous point if unwanted changes occur.
Q. What should I do if a collaborator's work doesn't immediately show on my screen?
This is usually a simple network error. Try refreshing the edit screen with
Command + R, or close and re-enter the project on the Workspace.
