Organization

In Framer, an Organization is the highest level of organization. It’s typically used at the company, large team, or institutional level. Simply put, it’s like a headquarters managing all workspaces and projects together.

Notable Features

• Centralized Billing Management: There's no additional cost even if the same person is in multiple workspaces.

• User Management: You can invite or remove members, assign roles, and monitor access permissions. For more details, check out this article.

• Unified Security Policies: You can apply standardized security rules at once without setting them individually for each workspace.

• Manage Organization Info: Check and modify the logo, name, number of workspaces, and more in the organization settings.

Workspaces

A workspace is where actual collaboration happens within an organization. Each workspace can appoint its own members, and different roles can be specified for each member within it.

Main Functions of Workspaces

• Extended Features: You can access custom code, Canonical URL, and other higher resources for all projects.

• Custom Font Upload: By uploading fonts in the workspace settings, you can use them in all projects within that workspace.

• Team Library: Through the team library, you can easily maintain design consistency by sharing components among members.

• Roles and Permissions: You can assign finely-grained roles at both workspace and project levels to members.

Folders

As the number of projects increases, management can become complex. Using folders can help organize everything neatly.

How to Create and Manage Folders

1. Click the + New Folder… button on the right sidebar

2. Enter the folder name (adding emojis helps in visual distinction)

3. Click Move from the … menu on the right of a project to move it to the desired folder

Projects

A project is the unit where you actually build a website within a workspace. It can contain several pages and can be published once completed.

• Multiple people can work on the same project simultaneously.

• You can specify access permissions individually, allowing some members to only view and others to edit.
